About the Author

The Dora Golding Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at Brandeis University, Nahum Sarna is widely acknowledged as an academic innovator in the field of modern biblical studies. He is one of the greatest practitioners of Jeudische Wissenschaft, a movement with origins in the 19th century Germany. Sarna is an outstanding member of a school of Jewish American scholars who combine ancient Near Eastern studies with the rich history of Jewish biblical exegesis and oral tradition.
